My personal account 'Hans' is the same on the Imac as well as on the Macbook. Passwords are identical. On both machines I am administrator. My Macbook connects to the Imac wirelessly. From my MacBook I can see the ImacHans in the finder. I can browse it's contents. In the finder I can see the 'eject button' behind the ImacHans, so I guess that means the ImacHans is mounted? Within the finder I can browse to the LaCie drive. I can add new folders and delete them. Which means I have read and write access rights. In Time Machine's preferences (on the MacBook) I can select the LaCie. So far so good, but when I ask Time Machine to 'back up now' it fails within seconds. The error message is 'Time Machine Error, the backup volume could not be found'. What is going wrong? Any help is much appreciated. Kind regards, hans. I'm trying to solve this for you. Its just kinda complicated.
