Never had problem, sure max settings is not an option, but I have found a 60 fps balance somewhere in the middle. But then new patch 7.3 comes in and BAM! I had to lower to minimum all settings and resolution just to keep the game above 20fps. That's ridiculous! Yes, I'm playing on fullscreen mode, my os is up to date, I'm using metal and settings appropriate for my mac (which btw worked fine till 7.3) And I spent hours trying all the 'basic fixes' and 'temporary workarounds' with no results. To be honest it feels like since 7.1 my MacBook Pro is performing slightly worse despite using the exact same settings. Then 7.2 comes out and it's even worse. Now 7.3 comes out and it's just nonsense. I don't know what's going on but needs to be fixed. Am I the only noticing this issue? Have you guys found a solution? A step by step guide on how to install the new warcraft III patch on MAC, but this could work on windows too, I have not tried. Since Blizzard released their new patch, countless of people have not been able to play Warcraft III Reign of Chaos nor The Frozen Throne, but luckily I found a simple solution to this issue. I found an issue with how much RAM the new version of WoW is using. Now it can cross the 4GB line, which I for one haven't seen before. (Im on an iMac with 8GB RAM, 1GB Radeon 6970M graphics) But the craziest things happen if I run wowhead in a browser on the side. Cause wowhead takes up over 5 GB a few times, and over 4 GB often, then 'down' to 3GB too at times. But wowhead is eating my RAM, and atm I can't have wowhead and wow open at the same time without mini freezes when they spend up my RAM. I have 8GB total, so as you can understand, I run right at the border of what I should be. I will buy more RAM soon (was going to anyway), but I dont like the fact that 1 webpage and WoW combined forces people to cross the 8GB of RAM-line. Same story here. I used to run the game without any problems on my MacBook Pro (mid 2015) prepatch 7.3. But no it's not possible to play. Already done all the obvious troubleshooting: – delete wtf/cache/interface folders. – mac os is updated to latest version – did the total reinstall of the game - put graphic settings to the lowest of the lowest. Like many others my issue is that the preformace looks good at first, and I log in without any problems. But then - after some seconds the FPS drops like crazy. From my normal 60 fps, and then down to 5 fps, freezes for like 5-10 sec. This goes on and on, several times per minute. Rca to usb video adapter for mac. So, please blizz - find a solution for this.:(. I play on both Mac and PC. Patch 7.3 for sure has killed frame rates. 2011 MBP Core i7 500GB SSD 16GB ram and a Radeon 6750M with 512MB ram. Mid settings got 40+ fps before the latest patch now around 25 fps. Now Some options are greyed out and i can't change them, when they used to be on max. I can only have low/mid. Ironically these are options that previously had little impact on performance. If the wef folder doesn't exist on your computer, create it. On the PC side of things, i have an i5 at 4.8Ghz 16gb ram and 2 2GB GTX770s in SLI. This too suffered from a big framerate drop since the patch. (GPU Z Shows my graphics cards being under utilised at half their full clock speed. Task manager shows the first 3 cores at about 50% load and the 4th at 100%) Without getting too technical and this is pure speculation. From my experience I feel our issues are more down to an aged game engine rather than our computers. With the graphics engine only being able to utilise one processing core all the additional graphics elements are just too much for it to handle. Lowering shadow detail and view / object detail makes a huge difference. I have also found Closing the battle.net app once in the game yields an extra 5 to 10 FPS and smooths gameplay out a fair bit. On the website Blizz has mac support for radeon 4850 and newer and radeon 5000 and newer on the pc, so by that information any machine from 2009 should be able to run the game at a playable framerate. I suppose its possible that in 7.3 Blizz have changed the graphics settings scale. So what we set as 'Ultra' would now be good and 'Ultra does more than it did prior to the patch. But again Just speculation. Older areas And my macbook pro on the settings im using to get 30fps in legion and its hitting 60+ fps (and burning my legs off):P.
